How to setup Unit of Measure in Sage 100

Unit of Measure Conversion Maintenance is used to define the relationships between various units of measure.  For any given unit of measure, equivalent units of other measures are defined in this window. For example, this task defines a gross as containing 12 dozen or 144 single units. Because a gross, 12 dozen, and 144 single units all represent the same total number of items, each of these measurements is classified as equal.
User can use the conversion factors established for a unit of measure to automatically enter equivalent sales and purchase units of measure. The factors entered in this option can be used in the Item Maintenance, Product Line Maintenance, and Transaction Entry tasks, as well as the Sales Order, Purchase Order, Bill of Materials, and Work Order modules.

Setting up of the Unit of Measure

To set the Unit of measure in Sage 100, user should navigate to
Common Information>> Setup >>Unit of Measure Conversion Maintenance

A new Unit of Measure can be created by entering the UOM code and processing Tab button. With this, the popup window allows user to enter the desired UOM.  In The conversion table, user can enter another unit of measures and its conversion factor against newly created the Unit of Measure. On pressing Accept button, the created Unit of Measure and its associated conversion will get saved.

Now in next step, we are assigning the newly created ‘EACH’ unit of measure to Sage 100 item.

As the usage of the UOM, each Line Item should be associated with a Unit of measure and can be used or changed while selecting the line Item code. In the below screenshot, we have selected the Item ‘100-01’ in sales Invoice line item. Accordingly, the Item’s unit of measure got populated in highlighted section.
