Data import manager is very different and unique module present in MAS 500 system. Using the data import manager tool user can easily import data from other source of application like XLS, CSV and XML file.

The data import Manager Program workflow has been divided into the three stages:
1. Maintain Source connection:
Use Maintain Source Connection to define the connection and source tables from the source data to the Sage 500 ERP databases. This connection is used at runtime to connect to the data source and import the data into the Sage 500 ERP tables. Here’s the screen where user can define the source connection details.
2. Maintain Import Job :
User can define here the Source connection and Destination entity. A source data connection that was previously created in Maintain Source Connection is assigned to the import job definition. The Destination entity is a Sage 500 business object where user can select to import data source on that destination.
Once define all the information and save into the Maintain Import job, the utility will be generating the SQL job in SQL Server for import the data from source records and insert into the staging table of Sage MAS 500.
3. Process Import Job task :
The Process Import Job is the final activity of data import process. This Process Import Job utility is used to process the records based on the information provided in Maintain Source connection and Maintain Import Job. With using the utility User will be able to transfer the records in Sage 500.
